Note: This post is part of a school assignment.
Prompt: Interview several teachers in your school and ask them to describe their professional preparation for becoming a teacher. What university courses did they take? Were they required to take professional exams to demonstrate their competency to teach? What kind of mentoring/induction support were they provided during their first year of teaching? What kind of professional development experiences do teachers participate in that enable them to continue to acquire skills after they enter the classroom?

Last week, I tried interviewing the teachers at my placement about their professional preparation in order to become a teacher, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out yet. The kindergarten is short on staff and there's not enough time to sit down with each teacher during the day. After each interview attempt, I have gotten similar responses about each teacher having very different professional preparation. Hopefully I can get at least one or two interviews completed before my last day on Friday.
