I spent the afternoon at the Hamburg Zoo with these lovely ladies to celebrate Amy's birthday! We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the warm and sunny weather.
Zoos are practically the same wherever you go, but this one had some major differences that were somewhat shocking to me. For example, the very first animal we seen were the elephants, but here you are close enough to feed or even touch them!
We continued through the zoo and noticed some of the animals were not enclosed and roamed freely. It was baffling how the animals were not even phased by our presence. I couldn't imagine any zoo animals being out in the open in the U.S. because I know there would be adults chasing or trying to touch them.

After we seen the lone tiger, we found a crepe stand and I had the apple crepe (I asked for the apple and cinnamon sugar crepe, but the girl didn't understand me and my English words).
We all finished our wonderful crepes and continued taking pictures of the animals or taking pictures with them. While feeding leaves to the alpacas, Amy captured this perfect picture of my nervousness of being bitten or spat on.
Another favorite moment occurred in the goat pen when a goat stole Alice's map, ran away, and ate it in it's entirety. All the other goats attempted to eat our clothes, bags, and maps.
After a wonderful afternoon, we met up with some of our other friends for drinks (I also had an amazing cheeseburger and fries) and company.
